Liberation: It's Like Helvetica, Only Real Ugly!

RedHat released some free fonts today. What would happen if Arial and Verdana hooked up and had a baby? The baby would be very ugly, and its name would be Liberation:

They say that the "sans" version of the new face is a substitute for Arial, Albany, Helvetica, Nimbus Sans L, and Bitstream Vera Sans. I say yucky! It's Helvetica's 50th birthday for goodness sakes... show some respek!
